AHRI Declarations and Statements

AHRI adopted the Statement on the War in Gaza at the 2024 Executive Committee/Board meeting held on 12 April 2024. The text of the statement is available in English, French, and Spanish

2021: AHRI Maastricht Declaration on the Human Rights Backsliding in Poland

AHRI adopts Maastricht Declaration during the the 2021 AHRI Assembly Meeting, August 27-28, 2021. The text of the declaration is available in EnglishFrench, PolishGerman, Italian, Chinese, and Spanish. 

At the 2019 AHRI Conference in Potsdam, 5-7 September 2019, the Potsdam Declaration on the Relationship between International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights was adopted. The text of the declaration is available in English, ChineseGermanItalian and Spanish

At the 2018 AHRI Conference in Edinburgh, 7-8 September 2018, the Edinburgh Declaration on Renewing our Commitment to Human Rights was adopted.  Translations are available  in English, ChineseFrench, Serbian and Spanish.  

During the 2017 AHRI Conference in Leuven, Belgium, 27-28 April 2017, the General Assembly adopted the Leuven Declaration on the Backlash against Independent Human Rights Mechanisms. Translations are available in Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, Italian, Espanol and Turkish

At the 2016 AHRI Conference in Utrecht, the Netherlands 2-3 September 2016 the Utrecht Declaration on Academic Freedom was adopted. 

At the 2015 AHRI Conference in Belgrade, Serbia – the Belgrade Declaration on the Refugee Crisis was adopted.
